Hi Guys, looking to buy a C63 coupe soon.

Is there any must have options?

Its only going to be used as an occasional/weekend car Max 6000 miles year ,so probably not sure whether to buy new pcp? Lease new? Or buy a used one for around 40k

What do you think?

The only option I would really miss on mine are the Performance pack, changes the whole car IMHO.

I don't have the PP pack and can't say I've ever found myself wishing I had more power, but each to their own.

I suggest you try cars with 18 and 19'' wheels - there is a noticeable difference in ride quality between the two.

Not much else to go for really - the HK system isn't outstanding but it's a nice to have.

PCP/lease/used - it's all down to your circumstances. PCP is flexible and gives you the opportunity to buy - given the new C class looks rather jelly mould like and uninspiring, some PCP-ers might want to hang onto theirs at the end of their deal, but no doubt the classifieds will yield some gems over the next 12 months.

These are truly outstanding, once-in-a-lifetime cars...

Thinking of a facelifted (>2010) C63 myself as the next car. PP to me is a must - I also love my audio and currently have the HK system in my M3. It's good but not as good as the top of the range for the M3, the Individual. What's the top of the range audio option for C63? Is it the HK or is there something else?

Of course, nobody needs more than the standard 450bhp smile But the performance pack does transform the car into an even madder hatter. It's like full-fat vs semi-skimmed. PPP cars are also unofficially are nearer 500bhp, with some putting out 507bhp. I believe the C63 507 version is simply a re-badged PPP option.

And I have to say that the HK system in the C63 is very good indeed, much better than the equivalent HK system in the E92 M3.

I totally agree. For what you get, which is near enough supercar performance with practicality, comfort and German build quality, it's very hard to beat.

So is the performance pack an option still on the C63? Anyone know if people are getting good contribution (pcp) from the dealer?

P31 Performance Pack Car was dyno'd at 515bhp last week at Surrey. That was stock too! 487bhp is a very conservative figure from Merc.

I'd be speccing PPP, LSD, 19's and HK if i were you. Failing that, get the PPP, 19's and HK and have a Quaife fitted after (thats what i did).

Not on a brand new car no - its stock or 507 only now.

I placed an order for a new Saloon this week and the dealer I spoke to said it was a good job I wanted a Saloon because the coupe's were not available anymore.

I don't claim this to be the gospel but its what one salesperson told me.

You will get the Kudos of the PP car....but dont get hung up on it too much.

There is plenty of tuning potential in a standard C63 and most will say the MB diff is not as good as a aftermarket Quaife or Wavetrac diff.
A remap will add roughly 60BHP to a standard car.

Its horses for courses on which spec to get, just test drive a few and then you can make the right decision. Whatever you choose it will be epic and a fantastic car that will have you smiling all the time (between stops at the petrol station)

Yep, I'd go with most of that. The reversing camera bit is pure gold, I'd never really thought of the design flaw!

If I glance up at my rear view mirror I can easily see my reversing lights, so I don't consider it a design flaw. The writer of the article maybe a little shorter than me perhaps.

That's how i found mine, by looking in the rear view. Granted it's not blatantly obvious what it is until its on and working.
