Hi All,

I've had my 2004 estate for the last 15,000 miles and after having spent loads on sbc, gearbox rebuild etc, i now want the ride to be more comfortable. I did have all the rubber susspension bits replaced but the ride over minor uneven road surfaces is unacceptable. Over big bumps & speed humps it is great. Also it is great on the motorway.

So what needs replacing? I think most of the problems are from the rear of the car. I also think it has self leveling rear susspension, not sure if this contributes??

The other day I had some sand bags in the boot and it drove much better.

Any ideas? Shocks??

We have the same issue- 09 320 with Sport suspension. It's normally on 18" wheels but even on winter tyres on 17" rims its ride around town is poor. We bought it with 9 months original warranty remaining, and it spent a lot of time at the dealers having the suspension sorted - it was lop-sided, didn't always raise when loaded, one of the struts/spheres was incorrectly installed- that was all sorted, it self levels fine etc., but the ride remains poor- jiggles on uneven surfaces, crashes over minor bumps. Every time I take it out it strikes me as poor - and both the front and the rear seem to be the same.

Sorry I can't help, but will be interested if there is a solution!

Yes, your explanation is the same as the issues im having. A bag of sand in the back makes it less jiggley!
