Servicing intervals W204
Discussion
I bought the car, a 200CDi, second hand on 1/8/2013 with 10,000 on the clock with a fresh service done and since then have covered 8,000 miles. The indicator tells me I have 95 days left until the next service, but when I picked the car up they told me I should have it next serviced at around 30,000. I'll have done probably about 12,000 in the intervening period so am looking for advice as to how I should react. |My old car, a 202, worked purely on mileage and the mileage changed when I added oil and the quality improved, and on average the services worked out at every 15,000 miles. Is the interval now purely time based and not mileage? I mean, this will work out at about every 10 months, which is expensive.
As far as I am aware, ceratainly in UK, it is 12 months or 15,000 miles, whichever occurs first. That's certainly teh case for my E-coupé. Presumably, yours is in France, so it might be different.
The mention of 'next due around 30,000 (miles?) seems high to me. If it was KM that might be a different matter.
My recollection is that they changed from the 'variable' system back to mileage/time in about 2008/9.
