Good evening,
we're still looking for a new family car and Mrs Veloce very much likes the idea of a Citrinite Brown ML250. Are there any owners / friends of owners on here? I'm not expecting the fuel return claimed by Mercedes, but would appreciate any running cost information.
The annual ved is £165 ,something of an improvement over its predecessor.

Just a note on current Merc ML. A family member bought a ML350 AMG Sport out of the showroom last year. Having driven their previous MLs and now this new one there are two options lacking on this car that with hindsight should have been at the top of the speccing list. The suspension is too harsh on bumpy roads so anyone ordering a sport should make sure they have the adjustable air suspension option. The other problem is the smaller fuel tank, go for the optional larger tank.
Fuel economy wise, the 2006 ML320cdi had a long term average of 24.5mpg. The 2013 ML350 bluetec is running at 28mpg. Not the increase I was expecting tbh.

I moved from a 2008 ML280 to a new ML350.
The previous car was a better looking car, but the newer one is far less agricultural and is a lot better. Maybe compare the 250 and 350? I think the 350 is a better engine and gives you a bit more power. I have never found it lacking.
I get between 28 and 32 mpg pending on driving and traffic. A lot lower than MB claim!
In terms of options, I don't have a problem with suspension, but that may be because I am used to harder suspensions. The command system is a must. Two standard options on previous car are not included in new model, and I miss them- heated seats and folding side mirrors.
I would strongly recommend the ML. Let me know if you have any other questions.
