AMG 63 engines
Discussion
Now that most of the 6.2 engines have been phased out and most of the AMG range using the 5.5 turbo engine, does anyone see older 6.2 engined car prices firming more? Would anyone still go for power over the normally aspirated engine and more tech.
The other thing to consider is that the new C63 will not use the 5.5 but instead a new 4 litre turbo which, according to EVO magazine, will be introduced into other AMG models to replace the 5.5.
I suppose there will be a point where the seduction of more power will override the emotional pull of the arguably better sounding 6.2

The draw of the 6.2 is undeniably the engine sound, but the 5.5 biturbo in my opinion is just as good. Purists will go for specific cars and versions because that's what they do, and eventually the c63 model will become as common as M3's were in E36 and E46 guise.
What with petrol prices, maintenance and supply levels on the current model, it's an expensive vehicle to keep long term, and probably more so with the years piling on, it's only the decent lease deals that gave many people the opportunity to get these, and if Mercedes do that again, I can see a glut of these arriving on forecourts soon.
That being said I've always bought my cars on the feeling I get when I get behind the wheel, and after running my c63 from new for the last 2 years, that feeling has not disappeared.
If you dont already own one of the current c63s, I do hope you get the chance soon.
