Mercedes vehicle history

I've just bought a 2002 SLK 230 auto. I've just realised the car was first registered somewhere outside the uk. The first servicing in the book at 21000 was done by Mercedes Park Royal in London. Does anyone know how I can check the previous history prior to Feb 2005. Thanks I'd be greatful if anyone can help me out. Also the owners operating manual is missing. If anyone knows where I could purchase one that would be great. Thanks Gallas.
