W210 - Pixel fix vs Mileage correction

I have a 2003 E220 CDI Estate, with the dreaded pixel rot on the two smaller displays. I thought I was being clever, and bought a second hand cluster on ebay, only to find it added 100k to the car when it was fitted. So I have the original dash cluster, recording 82k, with two duff screens, and one with working displays, but 180k.

My thought process is I could use the 2nd hand one whilst I send the original display off to be fixed (about £80), or fit the second one, and get the mileage adjusted by 98k (price unknown).

Any thoughts as to which is the better option, and any recommendations for either task to be completed around East Berks, West London?

I'd get the original fixed and sell the replacement back out. Saves a lot of questions and hassles.
