C63 tyres...get this!
Discussion
I've read a number of threads on here. Lots of moans about running costs on the C63.
So my car is a March 2013....13500 miles later....I'm STILL on my original rears with about 3mm left and no inside tyre wear!
Feck knows what you boys do with yours to need tyres after 6k miles!
So only major costs to hit me....is the somewhat large depreciation on a new car!
Me and cars are not friends any more! lol!

About to replace my 3rd set of rears in about 18000 miles. Standard size Conti 5Ps. 2 track days. No burnouts, only occasional full throttle take-offs.
I think the variance in tyre wear people are reporting can be explained by:
(1) how much stop start driving you do, rather than the distance covered per se. Plenty of motorway miles = long tyre life
(2) how much tread you allow before deciding replacement is due. Personally I replace tyres when they are still showing "legal" tread, I just feel on this type of car you need a little bit more tread depth than that allowed by the tread wear indicator.

WOW! Holy Moly!!!
So, I am on my 6th set of rear and 4th set of fronts, all in 20k, and I need another set now.
Fair enough one set of brand new to destroyed on a single drift day (yes ripped the fronts to shreds as well).
But still, it seems there is a huge difference from 'not taking it easy' to having a lot of fun with the car.
I usually drive with TC right off, and if opportunity presents, I race start with TC right off from the lights.
Infantile? Irresponsible?, childish? yes, perhaps all, but My God what fun and what sound.
My ONLY regret is that I can't 'use' the car more...our roads are hardly the place to have fun, and opportunities are few and far between.
I will only play about if there is no-one about, can see for a long way and not in built up areas.

Doing betwen 19 and 20 MPG - second set of tires in 15 k miles
on MO conti sports contact 5 - thread was OK - but as others tate unevenly worn despite laser alignment - but side walls are worn and rear tyre popped (side wall inside)
I think it makes a huge diffence if you do fast motorway driving (if you could in the UK
) or drive sa lot of crappy A and B roads with diffent loads and episodes of heavy acceleration and load changes
The conti tyres whilst comfortable and safe seems not the sturdiest - any experience with other threads (I am on 18" orginal AMG wheels, PPP plus)
