Don't know if it's force of habit, but even when the Mrs was giving me her one to add to, I didn't bother.

Could be down to not wanting to hang about, not seeing the value or benefit (of which there must be some), or just years of crappy rewards.

Am I alone...?

I know what you mean but with the shell card you can either get cash off future purchases at shell or waitrose, or if you are feeling generous donate them to a chosen charity,
It was always nice to get a free bottle of wine in waitrose knowing that you've already paid for it by filling up with optimax 3 times a week when I was running mine !

I've been looking closely at "loyalty" cards this week as a result of getting a C63 and as far as I can make out they are all pretty rubbish. If you fill up at Shell using Nitro+ you have to spend about £325 on fuel for a £2.50 voucher at Waitrose. As far as I can make out, the best way to get something for filling up regularly is to use Tesco Momentum, collect Clubcard points and use their Clubcard Boost to put it to something worthwhile.

This works best for me as I'm saving Avios (new version of airmiles) at the minute and Shell is useless for that. Which is annoying because I do prefer Shell fuel.

You can collect avios through shell drivers club cards

I fill up with Tesco Momentum 99 and use my clubcard for points. The added benefit is that I usually get between 6p-10p off per litre as I food shop in Tesco too.

These days I am paying on average 125p for SUL which is great smile

How does the 63 respond to Tesco's fuel>?
I know it's a topic that's been inconclusively done to death but when i had my E46 M3 it definitely ran better on Shell optimax, it ran rough on Tesco's and wasn't as good on BP either,
however my E92 M3 had no problems with any of the fuels.

I've never noticed any difference whether I fill my CL63 with Momentum or V-Max. Tend to avoid 97RON unless I am in a Shell/Tesco-free area but never had any issues with BP Super either.

Mine runs fine on Tesco 99 - it's never had anything else in it since brand new 3000mls ago...

Do you genuinely notice a difference?

I haven't filled up super unleaded in years since I recall it making no discernible difference in my E55 back in ~2006.

I have a 997 turbo and modded SL55, am I actually likely to notice?

I think the next tank will be super to see for myself.

I'm sick to death of bloody loyalty cards. Almost everywhere I go, I get asked if I've got one and when I say no, they ask if I want one. No I don't! I just want to pay and get on my way. If you can spend money and give stuff away running a loyalty scheme, just sell me the goods cheaper in the first place and save all the messing about for fk's sake! I'd need a separate wallet for all the poxy loyalty cards I get offered, which I won't carry, so instead I'm just made to feel like I'm paying through the nose for everything. rage
Anyway, I'm glad I got that off my chest! hippy

Loyalty cards are also used to collect marketing data, its never all in favour of the customer;-)
