W209 CLK 55 - weak points?

Apologies if there are any recent threads but I couldn't find anything within the last 3 years regarding this model.

I am at the moment tempted to view a low mileage 55 convertible in the classifieds, and am having trouble finding any real information about whether this car would cost a ton in repairs if unlucky.

I already know about the rust issues, the car in question is a 2005 MY model so should be galvanised?

Besides basic running coats and wearable part s, does this car have any tendencies to break in specific places?

There was an article about this model in Mercedes Enthusiast a couple or so months ago. See if you can get a back issue or check the website. I have a 55 coupe that has cost peanuts over the last eighteen months although there were a few things that had to be sorted out at first. For £8k I have no complaints.

OK - now at work. Does this model have the big brakes? If so, these are v. expensive to replace I think - well over £1200 for the front alone. Various sensors can fail at any time. Electrics can play up at any time. Rust issues are easy to deal with if caught early - speak to Clive at Benzworx.

I have done about 10K miles since buying mine and nothing notable has occurred - mileage now about 75k. I use a quite good but very convenient indie for servicing so these costs have been minimal.
