Jaguar XFRS Mercedes E63 AMG - please help decide
Discussion
Hi Guys
I am in need of your advice, after looking at different options my thoughts are now spilit between Jaguar XFRS and Mercedes E63 AMG
I need your wise advise to decide between these 2 fantastic cars.
I am looking for used one and found 2 avaialble:
1. Jaguar XFRS, Blue, 2014, 100 miles millage, 60K asking price
2. Mercedes, E63 AMG (NOT S), 2500 miles millage, 60K asking price
Where I like the XFRS out side looks, but XFRS interior is not as good as E63 while E63 looks are good but not much sportier. well I leave this on your feedback too.
I will be changing the car in 2 year, so need to ask you if bank from financing is good via bank with personal loan (Approved at 7%) or PCP or HP from vendor will work better.
Depreciation difference is important for me between 2 cars but its not big deal if its plus minus 4k.
Guys please do give feedback I dont have peopel around me who can give me advice.
Regards

Had the XFR (Not -S) for just over 12 months and now got the E63 (also non S) and much prefer the Merc.
Just feels so much more together, if you know what I mean, especially the interior. I know that the COMAND system is a bit old fashioned nowadays, but it all works straight out of the box (apart from the On-Line function which needs a bit of fettling and is still painfully slow) but I could never get on with the touch screen in the Jag, mainly due to the lag. The radio also worked when it wanted but apparently there's a factory mod for this. (Mine was a MY 2012) The seats are so much comfier in the Merc, especially if you go for the dynamic multi contours, though the cooling isn't as good as the Jag seats.
The Jag seemed very "shouty" in a "look at me" sort of way, whereas the Merc seems much more subtle and refined, especially when just cruising around in C mode. This all changes when you start playing with buttons but most of my time's spent commuting so I don't often get the chance to do this. The Merc is also very tuneable, with plug and play boxes readily available to give you the best part of an extra 100 horses, (Mine's just been dyno'd at 553bhp at the wheels)
I've not experienced the XFR-S though, to me, it looks a bit flash, especially in the French Racing Blue with the big spoiler. This is obviously subjective and I'm an old bugger so I probably would say that...
I must admit that the Jag was superb on corners, even with the factory Dunlops on, though the Merc's non too shabby, especially with LSD, which is standard on the S but I put a Quaife in mine as it seemed it needed something. I can still get the back end out, but it's much more controllable now.
At the end of the day, and as stated above, take them both out for a play. If they're both from their respective main dealers, you'll probably find the Jaguar one a lot more accommodating as they seem to be very customer focussed nowadays, though my Merc came from MB Harrogate who've been spot on.
As for finance I'm not sure, but Merc were doing a £1,000 cash back with 0% earlier in the year, though I'm sure Jaguar will have something similar
