Hi All,

Just back from a little trip to Austria. The Autobahns in Germany were fun and I even managed 186mph: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGwPDCyUXQU

Is your car remapped? In my 507 I got to 181 then it didn't seem to go any faster.

How did you find stability at those speeds?

Yes it's a standard C63 but with the Eurocharge remap.

I found it very good stability-wise. I had quite a few runs to 180mph+ and she tracked straight and true.

Well done, great to see someone really enjoying the car.

Did you do the Deutsche Alpenstrasse?

Cool. What's the Eurocharge remap?

Is this the thing that tries to tell you when the car thinks you are tired and need a brew?

I swear you could see the fuel gauge needle dropping on that acceleration run.

Love the acceleration between 60 and 120... bow

Sold my C63 last week after 40,000 miles of remapped magic. Then I saw your video, then the top gear re-run on Dave I am watching over breakfast has the c63, m3 and rs4 test... Oh no, what have I done... cry

Hi Tex thumbup

What are you replacing it with? Do you also still have your GT3?

Hi, yes still got the GT3. I took it on a great toad trip with some friends last weekend. We went to Assen to watch the Moto GP. Great fun.

I've replaced the C63 with a Golf R. My mileage just seems to keep growing so I decided it was time to get a little bit sensible. Hopefully it still should be good fun.

How are you getting on with your Caterham?

Is that a new Golf R? If so, how are you liking it? It does seem like a brilliant little thing; 300bhp but with 30+mpg, practical and fairly stealthy.

My C63 goes at the end of August frown I'm replacing it with another Merc, but this time a non-AMG. Gonne have to remember to fill it with diesel as it'll be the first diesel car I've had since 2005. Oh well.

As for the Caterham, it's just brilliant. Really really excellent fun. Spend a day driving it and then jump back into my C63 and it feels like I'm getting into an SUV. And the Caterham puts the C63's throttle response & steering feel to shame. It's perfect for UK roads (apart from when it's raining!).

Yes it's a new Golf R. I finished running it in yesterday and so had a little play.... I won't review it as it's a mercedes forum but essentially the engine and chassis seem great, the electronics (DSG, Touch screen media and adaptive cruise control) are driving me insane banghead I really hope I can get used to them!

I really want a Caterham at some point.

A Diesel, oh dear, you have my sympathies... ;-)
