Hi guys,

Got a my14 amg coupe. Had a few times where I smell a strong whit of either oil or petrol inside the cabin.

Anyone had this?

Nope. Sounds odd! Open the bonnet and have a sniff. Might be a hose off or a leak?

Hmmm, thought maybe it's the running in period, so things bedding in etc.... Will investigate it now.

On a side issue what this about face lift cars overheating?

Some FL cars have been known to overheat the gearbox when on a spirited drive. A few owners on here have had it pretty recently. But, saying that there are plenty who have had no experience of this. Merc have offered a solution but it's not being done as goodwill or warranty. MB want circa £3k for an improved cooling pack if i remember correctly which is a bit off! The proposed solution came about as a result of the F1 support cars suffering overheat on the track.......embarrassing!

I would say it's probably all the manufacturing oils and lubricants burning off. I remember mine ponged a bit for the first 500-600 miles or so. If it's still there after this time, get it into MB to be checked.

Thanks guys for your input. Not sure why but very protective of this car! Even more so than my r8 v10!

On another note, any one experienced pulsation during idle?

Only a little when hot. My RS6 and M5 did it too. You using vpower or equivalent?

Hi there, I've just run in my C63 Estate, picked it up new two weeks ago. I've had no fuel smells or erratic idle, just clicked round to 1,500 miles. If there are any niggles I'd suggest taking it in to get checked out. I had a new C350 18 months ago which had a weird shimmy on full lock, turned out was a trapped cable. Got it sorted and no more problems.

I need to put on the miles in the car, sadly living in Central London my work journey is less than 5 miles! So unless I just cruise around after work I really don't get to stretch its legs and really together used to the car.

Hopefully this weekend will put some miles on it!
