Command sat nav query.....

I have command sat nav on 2012 ML. The sat nav had been working ok giving traffic information.

The car is 2 years old next week and the traffic alerts stopped yesterday. I thought the system came with 3 years upgrades, has anybody else had similar problem?

Car getting serviced next week, so will be raising it then. But good to hear if others have experienced this.

The 3 years relates to map updates, not to TMC.

Oh, and comand only has one m...

Have things changed then? this is from the current SLK pricelist:


COMAND Online system with Media Interface
Includes radio, single CD/DVD, 7-inch colour display, hard disk drive (HDD)
navigation with 3D map display, Live Traffic Information and European map
data updates free of charge for the first three years,

The way that reads either the live traffic is always there or they're both for 3 years.

Have you checked that the TA setting hasn't inadvertently been turned off?

The traffic for Comand was a TMC based system which was OK. Recently (I think in the last year or so) Comand traffic on new cars changed to subscription based service provided by TomTom which I always found to be really good and definitely better than TMC.

Thanks for the comments. Can't see anything wrong with sat nav settings. Service due on Thursday. I will update after that. Hopefully it's just a software update required.

Update post service.....sadly sat nav still not working and not very happy with the quality of service at MB, Milton Sreet, Glasgow.

When I booked the car in, I was told they needed the car all day to do the 2nd year service and sat nav system upgrade. Long story short, they started the service at 3pm (after having car at 8am!) and ran out of time to do the upgrade to resolve the fault. So car has to go back in......

Keen to hear if others having similar software problems.

I had a Sat Nav upgrade last year but MB Brooklands knew what they were doing following my local dealer being clueless. Local dealer said the upgrade was done but Brooklands said it hadn't. Apparently the common mistake is that for some upgrades, they have to sequentially upload previous ones. Have you checked your current version vs the most recent available for your system ?

Thanks for response. My version is 2011/12 (V5.1) Europe. After a quick look online, there seems to be a 2013/14 version.....so looks like I'm potentially out if date!
