I've been looking for a C63 wagon but can't find any suitable examples. I widened my search for a coupe and found a few nearly new examples (early 2014) with around 5k miles for circa £45k.

After a visit to my local dealer this morning, I was offered a new coupe (standard apart from HK stereo) for £51k.

My head says that a new car will always cost more long-term, but it seems so close to the nearly new prices that I'm sorely tempted. The car lists just over £60k but there is around £8k dealer contribution.

Am I blind-sided by the "saving" i.e. is the list price artificial like BMW's pricing? If most have ppicked up new examples for around £50k then I'm probably better off buying used.

Hopefully my rambling make sense to someone!

Definitely wait for the new one wink Lower VED, much better fuel consumption, great wheels, great sound (see above) etc

Edited to add: and go for the estate. Much better looking and practical as well - makes it sound almost sensible.

That's why I turn to PH, sound advice.

However, it does open another question.....what to buy while I wait for the new model? wink

Just get the C63 and enjoy the last of the big muscle engine....never again will there be a 6.3 ltr Merc.
When the new one comes out there will be at least a year of gremlins to work out .....a bit like the A45 and the notorious turbo issue.

Hardly notorious. It affected a bunch cars that recieved a bad batch of turbos (feb 14 and there abouts). No damage to the car, just a new turbo and ancillaries required under warranty. No bad turbos since May if info on A45 forums is correct.

Just picked up a c63 estate with 10 miles on the clock fully loaded for the wife to run for a couple of years until the new one has been around a while. Been in the motor trade for 20 years with a German manufacturers and never keen on a new model. I receive a new car every 2 months and it would take me weeks to list the interesting and stupid mistakes new builds have had😗

Still shows though new cars have issues.....same as pre 2010/2011 C63s have a head bolt problem.

Just my opinion most new models have a re-call so wouldn't fancy handing over my hard earned cash to have to have re-call.

However once the new C63 it's been around for a year then I would definitely have one.....
