I'm reading conflicting stories about what changes these setting make. Some say it's only gearbox settings, others claim it adjusts suspension and traction control.

Can anybody shed some light on it for me?

Thanks

C = Controlled Efficiency. Pulls away in 2nd gear. Shifts up as soon as possible (7th by 52mph if I remember correctly). Semi-coasting on a trailing throttle.

S = Sport. Pulls away in first gear. Holds gears longer. Faster gear change speed. More responsive in kickdown to throttle applications.

S+ = Sport Plus. As above but more so. Fastest gear change speeds. Bit of an all-out mode.

All 3 of the above affect the gearbox response only (I don't believe the throttle map changes between modes). There is no change to the suspension (passive dampers) nor traction control by changing these modes.

+1 on the above.

Just to add that manual changes are at the same speed as S+

S+ is a little too harsh for holding gears in my opinion on the road and I generally use C or M only. C for pottering and M for all other times. Occasionally I use S for junctions.
