Anyone know how to replace a rear number plate bulb on a C Class saloon?

Just tried it this morning, and I cant for the life of me get the light fitting out, or see any reference to it in the manual.

Many thanks for your help!

Thanks Slacker.

Found the very same video 30 mins ago, and done the job.

It's a lot of trim removal for something that should just pop out to replace in my opinion. But how else are main dealers going to make their profits!!!

Cheers

How things change.About 6 years ago I took my couple of year old BMW to the main dealers to replace the rear side light bulb.Went to the service reception, told them what I needed,a guy came out to my car and put in a new bulb and checked it was working ok.I said how much is that,he said we dont charge for bulbs sir.

Perhaps i'm a bit too cynical, but as an engineer, the method of replacing a known consumable could be improved dramatically!

Can anybody help me. I tried to follow the video posted earlier in the thread but once i took all the boot lit lining out and got into the area where the bulbs are, i wasn't able to just pull the bulb out itself and put a new one in. It seemed that i need to replace the whole plastic casing around the bulb as the bulb is stuck inside with no obvious way of removal. My car is a 2012(62) C250 Coupe

If I remember correctly, it was very fiddly to get the bulb and its holder out from its position (even harder to get back in too!), but you do have to twist/turn the bulb holder, before it will come out.
