Just bought my girlfriend one of these.
Pre -owned 55 plate.
She fancied the look of it and I didn't realise they got to 60 so rapidly so a good compromise for me to use as well.
I looked at SL cars but she was wanting something a bit smaller.
Looking forward to picking it up on Monday / Tuesday.
Any owners with any feedback on ownership experience?

Check the drain hole under the battery - lift the battery cover under the bonnet on the passenger side. If there's water sloshing about beneath the battery, clean the muck out of the drain hole to let the water out, else the heater fan usually fails. HTH, and enjoy your girlfriends 350!
Picked up today. Feels tight and a bit more 'sporty' than I was expecting.
Quite a harsh ride actually but feels good.
Rattles and creaks from the back which I assume is the roof mechanism?
Doesn't sound like a suspension issue but think I might get it looked over. Its quite a loud rattle under heavy cornering.
Shaping up to be a great fun car. Sounds great as well.

The roof seals dry out causing creaks and rattles. Easy fix with the roof propped half open and some Gummiflege (probably spelt that wrong!) Have a look on SLK World for full instructions. Quite a harsh ride actually but feels good.

If your car is pre facelift (late 08, round chrome bezelled fog lights on facelift) then yes, suspension is hard. The later facelift cars are better.

The pre 08 cars has fairly soft suspension as standard, but the sports suspension option was very hard. Second the roof lubrication, makes a huge difference. If your car is pre facelift (late 08, round chrome bezelled fog lights on facelift) then yes, suspension is hard. And yes, check the battery compartment drain. Service check, but seems to be mostly missed.

That may well be true, but my understanding was that all UK cars had sports suspension, so they're all v hard. I stand to be corrected, but that was what I was lead to believe. Ari said:

Mine was a 57 reg, and sports suspension was an option. Having driven one with it, I didn't choose it. I live in an area with bad roads and wanted to keep my fillings!Standard springing was hard enough, but not rocky.
Roof shouldnt make any noise at all when up, as someone already said get some gummi pflege on the rubber and it should quieten down.
On the suspension front if its got the sports pack then it will also have red seatbelts. My wifes 300 has it and its rock hard, but she likes to make progress so its perfect for her. I wouldnt want to drive long distance in it though.

My current car is post facelift, Sport spec (so Sport suspension) and 18 inch wheels with low profile tyres and it is far better.
