Mercedes 500SL 2002 central locking problem

Dear all,
Please help as my SL has been prefect up to this point. Basically the key will switch the alarm on but does not lock the doors. It is not the key battery. Such happens using 2 keys. Also the buttons in the car to lock and unlock do not work and I now cannot seem to be able to get in to the boot. Any suggestions please?

Sounds to me like you have water in the boot.Behind the drivers seat there is a removable panel with a fuse box in it.I can not remember which fuse it is, but one of them will be blown.Change that fuse and providing it does not blow everything should work again.You do need to get in the boot and dry it out.Make sure you dryout all the foam around the pump!!!!

I second this I had a similar problem & it was because of water on the boot I suggest getting your seals cleaned out with an air line

Possibly the vacuum pump has blown due to water ingress. You can have them repaired, there is a guy advertising on ebay.
