I'm almost ashamed to admit, that with 14k miles under its tyres my C63 coupe is still on its original tyres - in fact they still have an even 4mm of tread all round! I'm not the slowest driver (as people who have been on my hoons will testify...) and I do even drift it occasionally (in the wet) so am amazed the tyres aren't toast. Even more surprising as I fitted a Quaife LSD with an extremely fierce lock up when it was new. Anyone been even kinder on their tyres?

Oh my god, that's amazing, I get around 6k out of the rears. I do drive it like I stole it though.

Looks as though I'm on track to match you then. I think I'll change the rears in a month or so, put on some new cheapies I can destroy by September when the car goes back and put the originals back on to keep Mercedes happy smile

i changed mine at 14k, they had around 4mm, I changed them because they were missing large chunks of tread probably due to burnouts.

Mine only lasted 7k. You need to get your C63 mapped I reckon. That'll fix the tyre life problem. smile

Obi, next time I'd recommend heading to Palmersport for the day - excellent range of cars, their tyre wear and it will save you money!

thanks.
Yes, I was "volunteering" at the stroke association day.

people paid for flying laps and the money went to the SA.
In the morning everyone was queueing for the ferraris and GTRs, so I "pressed on" a little on the demo laps and ended up with a queue of people wanting to come out.
I think I was pressing a little hard to get it into Quarry, big understeer and power oversteer on the way out. perhaps in retrospect I shouldn't have been using the same braking points I did in a GT car in britcar! biggrin
great fun.
