Hi All,

Just got back from a service and my front pads are 80% worn - they've quoted me £320 to replace which i feel is taking the p*ss a bit so I going to order some replacements and get a friendly local garage to fit..

Is everyone running the OEM Mercedes pads (i can find online for <£200) or do you have any other recommendations (EBC Yellow Stuff £175ish). It's a daily drive so don't want anything noisy/too track focussed (I do about 20k miles a year) but tend to do one or two trackdays a year..

Andy,
I Dont have a C63 but i've got an SLK55.
Uses 6 pot Brembo calipers, not vastly different. I've recently fitted EBC Red Stuff and like you mine is not a track car but is used 'as intended' wink

The Redstuff is slightly more fast road/track biased then yellowstuff, but key attribute is low dust. EBC also claim red stuff is for heavier vehicles. Yellowstuff is aimed at hatches and MX5 esque stuff in the main? dunno.

i'm 200 miles in and happy so far. there is a small chirp from the right rear discs but its going and will be gone after 1000 miles according to the blurb in the pack the pads came in.

I found OEM pads good but incredibly over-dusty and wore quick.

Hi

I have tracked my C63 PPP a few times, and do a lot of road miles.
On track, the brakes struggle. The pedal ends up gong to the floor and I have to come in.
When I do come in, the smoke and heat off the front is pretty extreme - think F1 type heat - you cannot even stand next to the wheel and smoke pours off the brakes.

I have put EBC Yellow on and the brakes are way better than oem pads in every respect, although the track sessions now last longer, it is a matter of time before the brakes overheat.
(or the oil for that matter).

Before you ask - yes I have had MB bleed the brakes and I have a few times as well.
