Had a 2012 c class estate. Needs replacing in September (co car)

Looking at
CLA shooting brake 220CDI AMG trim
C class estate C220CDI Sport trim

Both same price
CLA is a bit higher on BIK, not a lot.

Sat in both tonight (new customers cars so couldn't drive them).

I do 30,000 miles a year mixture on M and A roads. Need an estate for what we take as samples.

Need some opinions, advice etc....

CLA is FWD, C Class is RWD - I would go for the C class, also has much nicer interior.

I would choose the C Class as it looks great inside and out,new model with new lighter chassis and probably the perfect size. The CLA is more less the same size but uses the A Class chassis that is heavier, rear seat room is poor and hit your head getting in,the rear looks very strange on the saloon and think the shooting brake looks the same.

As it is a company car the list prices are similar but for the private motorist the C Class is a much better deal and a lot cheaper as you can get discounts from a Merc dealer around the 5k mark but only 2k on the CLA.

c class also has things such as dab and nav as std which the shooting brake doesn't.

Not been in estate variants of either but the W205 C class is a far superior car to the little CLA.

+1

In MB platform hierachy, CLA/A/B all sit below C class.
