Just got myself a nearly new E 63 AMG. Stonking car, love it. It's the 5.5 ltr twin turbo.
The MB dealer who supplied it said I should use super unleaded, but I am wondering if this is really necessary.
Question is, can I use regular unleaded without causing problems?
All comments welcome.
Thanks folks.

Yes you can the ECU sees this & will make the necessary adjustments so you'll be slightly down on power but your car will be fine

We've done over 20,000 miles in our 2013 5.5 E63 mainly on regular unleaded. No issues.

You will certainly lose some performance. Why buy an AMG and then go all budget with petrol? You really aren't going to save much.

Use either.
It definitely performs better with optimax but is perfectly fine with supermarket stuff.
Even after remap.

I put super in the non turbo version of that engine. I'm probably an idiot.

Try 2 tanks of normal then try 2 tanks of super and you will automatically feel the difference .

Much smoother
More responsive
More mpg too believe it or not
