My 2012 E350 CDI had its last service about 12months ago and has now suddenly asked me for an A1 service in the next 25 days... However the car has only done 5,000 miles so far since last service... Is this right? I thought these these cars were variable services and not time based.. I don't want to book in for a service if it is an error..

Can anyone shed any light?

My 2010 500 is time based, not distance. Gets expensive when you're not doing many miles...

As above. Definitely 12 months or 15,500 miles, whichever comes first. It should be stated in the service book in your handbook wallet. Basically, 3rd service would be an A service, which is not much more than an oil/filter change. 3rd year also lubricate Panoramic roof if fitted.

Is yours the stop/start model (it should be if 2012)? If so, 7g+ gearbox, so gearbox oil change not due, but if older model, i think there is a one-off gearbox oil/filter change at 3 years. Again, it's in the service book, and mine is currently tucked up in the garage, so i can't check biggrin

MB changed to this time/mileage service interval quite a few years ago, approx. 2008/9 IIRC.
