What causes the fluctuations in the torque plot under 4k ? did it slip on the rollers ?

What's the point? You can hardly put the power down on a standard ppp if there is even a hint of dampness. Plus on a track it would be too heavy. Then even a stage 4 GTR running 620 would blow it.

I think you missed the point.

The questioh is: Why shouldn't I have over 700bhp? Not, 'what's the point of over 700bhp'. That's like asking what the point of the moon landings were. Because they could.

What's the point?? Because you can lol

This makes these cars wickedly quick, yep a GTR would be quicker round a track but the AMG would be more comfortable and practical for the shopping trip to Asda with the kids or on the daily commute to work.

Without wishing to sound like a Diesel driver, on the road, I should imagine the real attraction is the torque.

The ability to get the benefit of 600+hp in the first couple of gears in a rear wheel drive car is in my experience limited to squeezing the gas open in the dry and trying to avoid the traction control cutting in, but it is fun trying and never gets old. Some ECU tweak age to 700hp perhaps some pipes and a look at the cooling system is something I would consider for my car, because it's possible and I would get satisfaction from knowing that it was there- even though I'd rarely use it all. However, by the time your're in a higher gear and climbing back up to using peak power the speed is (would be) too high for the road.

With the torque, however, firing between knots of traffic on the motorway, accelerating between dawdle speed and cruising speed, without dropping gears, without fuss and drama is where it's at for me in the day to day work; and I could see a C63 with that torque figure being a very pleasant way to float about.

I think he is on the wrong forum.

Excellent work, looks amazing. More power is always fun, and people doing this is great to see.

Acid's not brilliant at doing the contact thing due to his workload, though I'm sure he could sort something out for you on the SLK. Best off phoning him really, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put his number on here so won't but if you PM me I'll pass his mobile to you.

As for the Bi-Turbo, there are two main options. Rado downpipes, with either sports or no cats, which fit from the original MB downpipe replacing the original cats and mid section, or Weistec turbo back downpipes which replace the restricted original downpipes and mid section. No option for cats here without cutting and welding a pair in.

I've got the Weistec ones on mine (E63, thread HERE) and, after a few initial fuelling and CEL problems which were resolved by a Weistec Re-Map, now love them to bits. The power, they free up is incredible, as is the noise they make when using said power, even more so since I put their air filters on it. biggrin

Having said that I know a couple of guys with the Rado system and they are equally as impressed with their set up. Another plus with the Rado set up is that it's a lot easier to put back to standard (mine was practically an engine out job) and quite a bit more sensibly priced, though nothings cheap with these things as you're probably aware.

I don't think Weistec offer solutions for the SLK55 - Kleeman are reputable SLK tuners:
