UK C200 v's U.S. C300

Just back from a business trip to the US and was discussing cars with a U.S. peer , turns out he has just picked up his new C300. Not got that one in the UK I had to go for the C200 the 2 litres turbo, turns out that's what's in the US C300. So are they the same & the U.S. market just demands a larger number on the badge

I think the C300 is about 240bhp. Some countries maybe have a C250 which is about 210bhp. All 2 litre turbo's but with different configurations.
