As I've been commuting in my Fiesta ST and old Focus more and more its dawning on me that the S3 really isn't that special to keep just for weekend use, so I've been looking at a few different things.

By chance I was in a dealer that had a 2012 C63 Coupe at the weekend so I had a test drive of it, don't think I need to say anymore there...

I wouldn't be using it for commuting, just for weekend/holiday use so I'm fine with running/servicing costs. I was just wondering if there are any specific issues I should be looking out for in used ones.

Petrol stations. wink

Seriously, I think it's 2012 onwards cars have a much better looking interior. I considered a C63 but couldn't quite stretch to the facelift version at the time.

Hello Mole biggrin

I've just got myself a 2013 Coupe - immense car!

There's a buyers guide here: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-buying-guides/m...

Good luck in your search.

Oh and toasty wasn't kidding... they are a bit thirsty!

Ha ha, and there is me thinking that the pre-2012 cars have a much better looking exterior!

I'm running a pre-facelift car and adore it but alas the arrival of a baby means that it'll be on its way out soon. My advice is to look for the spec you want, it'll come around, there are so many for sale at any one time. I really wanted the PPP, LSD, COMMAND and the Harmon Kardon. In the end I also got the Speed Pack, Carbon Pack and Ipod prep as well!

Best of luck searching and don't settle for second best.

Tom

PS - The interior is nicer on the newer cars and you do have the improved gearbox and additional Sport+ setting. The old interior isn't that dated though, not in the same way as say BMW interiors date.
