Side mirrors SL350

The side mirrors on my 2004 SL350 have stuck in the folded position. When I put it in the garage last night it was OK, took it out today, mirrors wouldn't unfold. I checked the setting, OK, the supply to them seems to come from the same fuse as the windows and they are working OK. I've disconnected and re-connected the battery, hoping that may reset them. I've also reset all the settings without success, any ideas welcome.

This is an unusual fault on a 230, the only thing in common to them both is the switch in the top of the centre console

You are a star! I've had the car for nearly 5 years and I guess n the early days I must have tried everything, but never used that switch; must have inadvertently pressed it. Feel a right plonker, but who cares now.

Strange thing, I'm considering changing the car, don't really want to, but I've had a lifelong ambition to have a Aston Martin and I can't quite push myself. Would keep the Merc and buy an Aston, but not enough garage space and can't persuade my wife to use the Merc rather than her DS3! Silly girl.

They are nice cars the 230, the main thing with them is to fix the rear window sealing to stop water from getting into the boot.

Yes I've that problem but was fixed a few years ago.
