C63 Basic Spec - Extras?
Discussion
I'm interested in a C63 Estate but I have no idea what the basic spec is and what options could be specced at the time of purchase (the one I'm looking at is a 13 plate). So whilst I can look at a car and go 'that's nice', I don't know if there's more to be had in terms of extras or not. Can anyone help? Thanks!
Thanks. So what extras could there be? DAB I can live without, HK I'm not so sure (I have it in my current car). You say that most owners spec HK but none of the 18 on MB site have it listed although a few have an 'Enhanced Audio System' - whatever that is. Could be that the dealer has just not bothered to put it up or that it's a relatively unusual option?

When I bought mine I wanted the following:
1. Optional Locking Diff
2. Harmon Kardon. Call up a dealer and ask for exact spec if you are interested. When searching for my car I called up a local dealer about a car and asked about the car that had done 5k miles. Turned up at the showroom 20 mins later and found it had actually done 15k miles and was in terrible condition. Poor advertising on main dealer website + incorrect information over the phone.
3. Black 19" wheels on Silver car....silver arrow etc
4. Sunroof - did not know if that was optional extra or not
5. DAB
Basic spec includes the lovely electric memory bucket seats and I Sat Nav I think.
If the car had a performance pack but no locking diff I was not interested. I also did not want comfort access for security reasons. I personally believe these systems just make stealing the car easier. Suffice to say it took a while before I found a low mileage example that met my requirements. Make sure there is plenty of tyre tread left, even main dealers get these things wrong even though they will swear to have been 1,000 checks done on an approved used car. I cannot even tell you the exact number of times the basics have been missed by BMW, Audi and Merc dealers on past purchases...all I know is that it has happened far too many times for me to trust main dealers on face value.

that's a basic spec car, but pretty much everything bar slippy diff was standard by 2013 model year - HK not a biggy, prefer 18in wheels (19's are a nightmare for developing cracks) standard audio is pretty decent. the diff makes a massive difference though, so much so that I ordered and had fitted a Quaife diff aftermarket.
