Does anyone have any Idea's how long and how difficult a water pump change will be on my W124 Petrol 300TE-24 Estate?

I've a friend that's hopefully going to be doing It (Bmw mechanic) but he believe's the Inlet manifold will need to be removed first to obtain clearance to take out the old Waterpump.

Thank's In advance.

While obviously not the work of a moment, the factory service manual does not suggest you need to remove the inlet manifold. A morning's work for someone who knows what he's about? This may be useful:

As already said, you don't need to remove the inlet manifold, but it might be worth removing the radiator to gain a bit more access.

Some of the retaining bolts for the pump are impossible to see as well, so it is a bit fiddly.

This man talks sense; removing the radiator will save you time in the long run.
