I have been quoted £325 by one Mercedes garage and all the rest are slightly above.
Does any one know of any garages that will break the cartel price?
Also I fear as it is a Mercedes direct lease car I can't go to an independent who incidentally quoted me £155 for exactly the same A service.

You read stories on the MB forums of people getting London dealers to service their cars for £200 but I'm always dubious - why would they do that?
How long is your lease for, and what's the likely total mileage? Particularly because you're stuck with London prices, the line of least resistance would probably be to buy a ServiceCare package, much as it grates with me.

Exactly the same price as the servicing on my BMW X3, for 4 years and 60,000 miles. Mercedes really need to sort it out.
My E Class' second service was £740, it included the 38k mile transmission fluid change, plus the 2 year brake fluid and coolant along with filters, but after £300 for the first service you do start to wonder 'why?' when the 535d sport touring that I had before was £425 for the first 4 years and 60k miles.
But do haggle, I got them to match an indy on my older E320 estate, or they got pretty close anyway.

Mine was cheaper than both indies I tried. And that included a courtesy cr which neither of the indies did so would have been a faff to drop it off. They're not stupid though - wouldn't apply on the OPs car, hence the price he's been quoted, but on older cars it's a chance to sell more work. My last £180 service ended up costing £550 - much of the extra cost met by Warranty Direct, but the dealer didn't know I had that cover.

Funny you should mention this as I did exactly this with my 997. Porsche weren't overly impressed but it knocked a few hundred off the service. The following thread may be helpful -

As for current Mercedes options it appears that they are operating a cartel but I am determined to beat them down in price for what is just an overpriced oil change !
