Cracking cars, I have an estate and it does everything you could want, motorway cruiser, can shift a bit on the A roads, very comfortable for a family, and can take a wardrobe.

Try and get the command system if you can.

One that that really bugs me though is the fact my car doesn't have memory seats and the wife drives it some of the time after which I can't even get in as the seats are almost touching the steering wheel, it was an option, I expected it to be standard.

I get about 35mpg which isn't too bad but not the 40+ quoted, I used to have an 2001 e320 cdi which did get over 40mpg.

I bought a 2012 E350 sport 125 edition about 4 weeks ago, so far I love it. Quick, economical and very comfortable. Has full leather memory seats which was a option apparently, but no command. My first Merc, but hooked so far.

I bought a 2011 E350 Avantgarde Edition 125 a few weeks ago. It has quite a few options but the standard spec it most impressive.

It has looky roundy corner headlights, auto dimming mirrors and quite a few other things that I would expect to be options.

It is a great car. Really comfy, quiet, fast enough, surprisingly agile (for something that weighs 2 tonnes!!) and is massive.

Options that I think are well worth paying for: Pana roof, dab, harmon k hifi, full electric memory seats (I only gave part electric).

The best bit has been the mercedes dealer. I bought the car as a distance sale and noticed that the three new tyres fitted by the dealer were the saloon spec (load index) and phoned the dealer. 2 days later I had a full set of 4 tyres fitted at a local tyre place. Arranged by mb within minutes of me contacting them. The purchase was easy too. Decent discount off a fair price given the spec of the car.

thoroughly recommended. Both car & Hemel MB.

I had a 2010 E350cdi estate. Hated it.

I had the previous E320 and adored it, and I ha the S210 E320 estate before that and loved that too.

But didn't like the E350 S212 at all.

Too many niggles.
Seats didn't go low enough, which meant I couldn't get the steering wheel in a decent position, by the time it was comfy you couldn't see the cluster, you knew you were doing between 20 and 140mph but no real idea. Lots of mention of this on forums in the States and Mercedes rectified this slightly on the facelift.

Arm rest on the door too far away, and windowsill too high to rest on, after two hours this was uncomfortable, meant I ended up steering holding the bottom of the wheel on long journeys with my forarms resting on my lap, not ideal.

The thing also had parameter steering, basically as you move the wheel more the turning circle tightens. Bordering on fking lethal, on the autobahn on a long sweeping corner it really showed itself up. Non linear steering is a crazy idea and is only good for lazy Yanks who never go over 40mph.

The interior plastics were cheap, not nice to touch and made cabin noise terrible, on the estate anyway, real noise in the rear. I ended up putting a duvet in the back to stop it, not ideal as you buy an estate for load space.

MPG, mine was the pre MY12 7g Tronic Plus gearbox, the older 7g, not great and drank fuel, 29 round town, 37 on a run, average of 33 over the 20 weeks and 8,000 miles I had it.

Ride was also not great, far too firm for a Merc and crashy over poorer surfaces, mine was on 17s too.

Positives?
Looked nice both inside and out and the boot was a decent size (when the duvet wasn't in there).
Oh, and I only lost £1500 in the 20 weeks I had it. Could have been a lot worse.

I had a BMW F11 Touring between the E320 and the E350, which showed the Merc up somewhat. The BMW was better put together, much nicer cabin materials, handled better, had some feedback and surprisingly comfort was in a different league.
I actually found the BMW too soft compared with my E61 535d touring before, hence thinking "if I want soft I may as well go Merc and do it properly" Hmmm? Big mistake.

So I certainly wouldn't recommend one.
