Hi all.

I am struggling to find a decent trimmer to fit new seat covers and a new soft top to an 87 Mercedes SL I just imported from the US.

Ideally in Surrey/Hampshire/Sussex.

If anyone knows anyone, please shout!

Ed.

Dave at D Class Automotive in Chobham, Surrey is your man.
01483-722923

He is a specialist trimmer and has done a lot of work on my 107 SL. I haven't needed a new hood, but I know Dave has replaced a lot on Mercs of all ages. Out of interest, his brother, Barry, runs a body shop/restorers on the same site where he can do everything from minor scrapes to full back to metal restoration.

Can't recommend Cayman Autos enough - in Dorking. Top notch.

Thanks. Spoke to them they only do mechanisms. But they recommended Carhood Warehouse. Anyone used them?

Obviously a bit further away than hoped..

Try giving BAS a call and see what they can do for you. You can have it fitted at their premises (they did my Boxster) or they'll arrange a partner closer to home to do it for you.

+1 for Dave & Barry Price at d-class/multitech in Chobham. They are the go to guys for many older merc custodians.

So the car is booked to D:Class in Cobham. Sadly they cant do it till 13th of October. But on the plus side they are busy, so ergo good at what they do!

So much for getting the car sold in the summer!

The wood looks transformed, too. What did you do/who did you use for that job?
