W211 E55 AMG LPG Conversion
Discussion
Bit of a long shot here but are there any W211 E55 AMG owners who are running an LPG conversion? Or anyone with the same M113K engine?
I've started looking at replacements car for my Mitsubishi Galant VR4 in 6-8 monts time and the E55 has caught my eye. Having owned a X308 XJR before I miss the soundtrack of a V8 and the stats for the E55 eclipse the XJR. A lot of car for the money!
I've grown used to 50p a litre fill ups after having the Galant converted to LPG a year ago and I've already made the cost of my conversion back. If I do end up with an E55 I'd be looking at getting that converted. My installer says they can be converted, just wanted to get some views from anyone who has had it done to see what size tank you have, range etc.

You can lpg the SC Range Rover engines so I suppose it could be done. Just need to find a very good converter.

I know of a dark blue E55k estate that has LPG on it. Owner bought the car at 120k miles and had the kit fitted. He's had it 3 years now and no issues.
We've owned cars with the N/A M113 engine fitted with LPG and never had any issues at all.
Excellent, don't suppose you know if the owner of the estate is on any forums so I can contact them? I had a look at the C55 of the same vintage with the N/A M113 but the K hits the spot for space and pace and the sound with CLS55/63 or C63 backboxes and a few other bits is just spot on. Edit - the owner has replied to my thread over on mbclub. We've owned cars with the N/A M113 engine fitted with LPG and never had any issues at all.

Thanks for the link. I know that the SC JLR AJV8 engine has issues with the valves which means more work and ultimately a large outlay on conversion costs. That's what put me off buying a clean X308 XJR again and having it converted. I'll ask the boffins on the forums. This lot will know
