Production Vision GT

So, I've been looking around the interweb for some new and interesting ideas for future website content.

I came across this story from 2013 on multiple sites and wondered if anyone could confirm whether these 5 production Vision GT's ever became a reality? I can't find anything anywhere to say that they did - I imagine Mercedes came down hard and said no to their creation but you never know.
