W211 e63 or e55. What's the difference?
Discussion
Apart from the engine of course.
As far as I can see the e55 as sbc which breaks and the e63 doesn't. But the e63 has hideously expensive front discs and the e55 doesn't.
Newer cars have fewer electrical niggles maybe - they are newer and more developed?
Are there options on the e55 that came as standard on the early e63s?
Anything else?
Thanks

A lot more torque in the E55
More gears in the e63
More fuel in the E55
More body kit in the e63
Both play second best to an m5 in terms of handling but tbh 90% of the time who cares
My kids used to throw up in my m5 / m3 the E55 has air suspension so stick it in comfort and it wafts along - even my 70+ yr old parents think it's comfy.
Both cars require skill and self control to stop you accumulating points at a very rapid rate
I have an e55 - the engine is great. The e63 is also great
With both cars getting on, buy with a lot of research and on condition / history.
