M119 weeping oil leak
Discussion
I had the same issue on my engine - there isn't actually a gasket, it uses a sealant. MB sell it, but I bought a supposedly identical one made by Loctite (probably in fact the same one). I bought some Loctite cleaner as well, and in 3 or 4 months I've had no return of the leak.
It is Loctite 574, the cleaner 7063. The oil was affecting the operation of the solenoid, but cleaning the terminals and connector (it comes apart) sorted the issue. The solenoids are each held in place by three Allen headed bolts.

Thanks for that, did you remove the end of the carrier to apply the sealant?
No - on my car, it was simply the solenoid which was not sealing properly (it seems quite a common fault) so I simply removed the three bolts, cleaned up the mating surfaces, applied sealant and re-tightened the solenoid in place. Judging by the amount of oil beneath the solenoid in your photo, it looks a similar problem to mine. Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
