Stopping leaves getting into front drain holes.

Has anyone ever came up with a solution to stop leaves clogging up the drain holes in the scuttle panel below the windscreen?
My car's parked under a small tree and during the Autumn it get's covered in leaves and the only sdolution I have at the minute is to open the bonnet once a week and clear out as much leaves as possible.
I thought about putting a length of material across it to let water but nothing else through but not sure if that'd work?
