I'm planning on getting some spare wheels for the 507 to use every day, keeping the forged 507 OEM wheels for track days. I have the following wheel choices (after too much thinking and chin stroking as to what would look good), each has benefits and drawbacks...can anyone comment on them and the overall wheel weight debate?

I'm going on the assumption that the stock forged wheels weigh 9.8kg on the rear. Sticking with 19" rims, 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. All in either matte black or matte gunmetal (on a black C63)

Ispiri FFR1 - £1225 - 9.3kg - 2kg saving overall

BC Forged Monoblock - £2600 - 9.5kg - 1.2kg saving

MRR FS01 - £1900 - 10.2kg + 1.6kg

MRR GF7 - £900 - 11.7kg + 7.6kg

MRR GF6 - not sure - not sure

MRR GF9 - £900 - 11.5kg + 6.8kg

HRE FF01 - £2700 - 11.41kg + 6.6kg

I really like the FFO1 and also the GF9 look but am worried about the weight. The MRR are so cheap that I could even buy 2 sets and mothball the OEM wheels for when I sell the car!

I used these on my OH's C63 & they were great, we used them on four trackdays & all through winter I have to say they held up very well, in terms of finish to.

I recently fitted these to an RS4

Stance SC-6

I use Stance & Vertini alloys a lot they always make sure I get the right offset to fully fill the Arch without rubbing & the Three year anti crack & buckling warranty is very handy, not that I have had a customer come back for that so I can recommend them.

Love those Stance wheels. Any idea on weights? The Velos solo 7s are one of my favourites but over £4k and weight in the 11kg bracket so no chance.

Excellent. I'm leaning towards the FS01s as they have a good compromise between price and weight...knowing me though I end up spending £8k on ADV1s frown

They are Ispiri FFR1Ds? I don't like how all these makers that build wheels out in Taiwan use the same design but different names. Ispiri/MRR for example. That's a good weight on the Stance/Ispiri wheel.

I like the SC1 and SC9 from Stance, can't find a UK dealer though. Shame the SC8 is 20" only. Slate grey barrel (matte) with gloss slate gray spokes! Nice.

I order mine direct their European importer & he's been spot on, 23 sets of alloys later I've never had a damaged alloy & they have always arrived on time.

Do you think wheel weight of 1.5kg per corner will be detrimental to the handling/performance?

I wouldn't have thought so I probably saved more than that fitting my coilovers, removing the base of the rear seat would save you more than the 6kgs plus I'd rather have a stronger rim than save kgs there.

Which coilovers did you go for? Been looking at V3s or Club Sports...mostly road use but 6-7 track days a year including the Ring.

Don't want to start stripping weight on the car, it's a slippery slope for me!

I went for Penske Coilovers with Remote Reservoir for my personal cars, but Koni or Bilstein's are just as good.

Interesting...what sort of price spec on the coilovers you've used?

Looks like I'm ordering the BC RS40 wheels in matt gunmetal btw.

Nice choice on the wheels, the Penske's have set me back between £2580-3340 depending on exchange rates, but they are fantastic & their back up is superb.

That's around Clubsport price. I've always liked the KWs but don't mind trying another brand...just don't want something too compromised for the road that requires lots of tweaking. Been there done that with track cars, just want ease this time round.

To be honest my Penske's on the CLK63 are more road orientated, where as my CLK55 is set up for track use but different valve & spring rates mean it's over a second quicker round the Indy circuit, I've found softening off the dampers & getting the helper spring rate right they're spot on so the 55 is still has decent ride quality.

The set I have on my CLK cdi has the same shocks but a different valve rate with softer springs for the road, I had a good set up on my C63 which was similar to the clk set up, as I said they've been spot on with me.

My brother has a really aggressive track set up on his M3 again with the Penske coilovers on the road it's stiff but still liveable.
