If you work for Mercedes Benz could you please tell me if I am correct in thinking that, if my car needs Add blue adding during it 1st year the dealer should supply/ put in 10 litres foc.

Cheers

They'll probably do it FOC but charge you £40 to nibble on a biscuit in their lounge whilst they pour it in.

I don't work for Mercedes-Benz, but I can comment if you wish.

Following the recent VW scandal, and diesel engine exhaust revelations, we now know about the addition of urea. The Mercedes product Add blue (with name trade mark) might perhaps be that same chemical.
If so, you could easily have as much as you want, free of charge.

I have not yet seen anyone adding this to their tank at a filling station, but it would be best done in private.

P.S. If you don't get the joke, check a dictionary for the definition.

I do work for Mercedes.

I believe the rule is up to 12 months old/first service we top up the Ad-Blue FOC. After that either the customer pays or it's at the dealer's disgression.

From that link "AdBlue must not be mixed with any additives or diluted with water."

So I'm thinking adding tap water or halving the price by making it 50:50 is a perfectly viable option. It's just post-injected into the exhaust so won't make any practical difference.

I'd be doing that if my (soon to arrive) Merc was a diseasel.

(Sorry to be O/T but I note the OP question has been answered now)

Well, apart from lots of kittens dying.

Truckers can get a device which allows the Ad Blue stuff to be turned off (and on again when necessary). I guess it won't be long before such things appear for cars.
