After 18 months in the modified A45 I'll be swapping back to a 63 plate C63 Saloon on Christmas eve. I looked at the M3 and M4 options and almost pulled the trigger on white M3 but Merc pulled it out of the bag with a nice little retention deal where I simply swap cars. Unlike my previous P31 engined pre facelift this one is the standard P30 Saloon but with a high specification and facelift. Items on my Xmas shopping list are some red callipers, quaife diff and stage 1 remap. Car already has carbon bits so itll effectively be a Perf pack car when I've added the extras. Looking forward to getting back in the lazy V8. Pics to follow, Eddie

Missed the ease of the V8. A45 was very accomplished and bloody rapid, but you knew it was a 2.0 turbo on the motorway. Just never felt as capable in that environment. Fantastic little back road monster though. Nothing really matched it off the mark.

Well, that was short lived. Just went to view the car and it turned out the spec was nil and no more. Miles are low etc but its not worth the jump from my specc'd up A45. Excitement over!

What are the extras that are must haves? I'm looking at the lower end of the market as a possible purchase in February. Been keeping an eye on prices for a few months now and I've noticed a few cars that are still for sale. I guess they do attract some rudeboys so there will be a fair few that have not been looked after properly etc.

Depends on your budget but I wouldn't get into anything lower than a P31 facelift having had the P31 pre facelift already.

So, today I put a deposit on another car!

C63 Saloon
P31
2012 Facelift
LSD
PPP
HK
DAB
20k miles
19" black alloys
Carbon
Black leather
Sunroof
etc etc.

Basically, nearly every option ticked.

And..... it's working out cheaper than the shed that I viewed on Saturday! Win!

I've had my C63 for about 3 weeks....Without doubt the best V8 I've owned.

If you live on a quiet cup-de-sac be prepared for some disapproving, early morning window twitching. hehe

I considered the new model but the old W204, despite it's poor interior and dated looks, is the one that will stay in peoples minds as the ultimate OTT saloon!

Here you go not long been home 235 and managed 22.5mpg won't see it that high ever again. The weather was horrendous but I could quite easily cross continents in it so nice to drive. Can't wait for some nice dry roads.

Very nice. I think at some point we should do C63 meet. Get a few of us together somewhere.
