Hi

Is there any way (for a dealer or owner) to find out how many times "race start" or "launch control" has been used on a W204 C63?

I've had a quick search of the forum, and can't find an answer.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks - that makes sense.

Would you know how a dealer / engineer might get the info, as the one I'm talking to isn't sure it's possible...

Thanks

Your ECU will store the data as will the Gearbox ECU every time you access Launch it's logged.

So long as box temperatures remain in check any number of race starts can't be considered as abuse apparently. Only if you fry the hardware (impossible as the race function cuts out after 3 back to back runs) would race start be an issue. Clutch wear is minimal too as the application is sharp rather than riding. Biggest wear will be on rear brakes due to traction control functions.

They take so long to setup and seem so sensitive to the road angle/camber that I would be surprised if anyone has got it into double figures!

Ive given up after around 4 goes!

I did over 100 race starts in my stage 2 tuned A45 (in 18 months) and had no issues. Clutch etc all A-ok. Was running 430bhp too.

Still can't figure out how to do it in my cls biturbo after 2.5 years and 5 years in a c63.
My dial turns when it wants to and not when I want to learn how to use it!
Supposedly running 700+ both Bhp and lb/ft
I was told when I had a brand new e60 m5 (2005) and sold it within a day ..that they could only have 10 goes at launch control before it became invalid for warranty so in my mind it's not a bad question

You have to press the brake pedal HARD for it to even engage.
