Lowering and exhaust mod for R230 500SL 2003 advice needed

Does anyone have some knowledge on the best way to do this and removing rear boxes for a better sound?

My car is a 2003 500SL

Can't help on the lowering but the exhaust noise can be made louder with an X pipe and resonator delete.
