E63 - 2011/2012 biturbo 5.5 - pre facelift

I'm considering one of the last E63 AMG models with the angular front and old style bonnet badge - but with the newer 5.5 turbo engine (replacing the 6.2 NA V8).
I'm guessing these are fairly rare, but would appreciate any buyer tips on things to look out for?
- is the engine / drivetrain known for any issues? I'm assuming even with 500+ HP, on a car with on 20-30k miles there should be little to worry about
- Is the COMAND and interior OK on these gen? I recall the early models had some criticism for poor build?
I'm after an estate BTW. I guess the 7 seat option stopped with the earlier generation? A shame.

I had a post facelift model and ran it for 20k miles from new before it went back to MB. Aside from a slight power hike, I don't think there is much difference mechanically.
The issues I had with mine were the gearbox losing drive completely on a couple of occasions, one of which was when I was pulling onto a large, busy roundabout. This fault could never be replicated in front of the dealer and it wasn't picked up through error codes/diagnostics etc. At least one other user on here had the same issue and in my case, it made me lose faith in the car.
Mine also drank an unusual amount of oil, around 1 litre every 2k miles. The car was on a lease, so I knew it wouldn't be my problem in the long term but again, it would put my off owning another.
Aside from that, it had a few more rattles and creaks than I would have expected for a flagship E Class but I might have been unlucky.
There are other owners on here who haven't had the issues I had but my worry would be that none of the above would show themselves on a test drive.
