New SL delays

I ordered a new SL63 AMG in April, was given a delivery date of 20 July. On 18th July I was told it was delayed because of a faulty part. Then was given 13th August as delivery to the dealer. Yesterday I was told that it was further delayed with no idea of a delivery date.

Has anyone else had problems with delivery. Do you think this is genuine or am I being bumped along for other customers?

This is my first Merc after 15 years of Porsche, who always under promised and over delivered.

I have read of delays on other models due to shortages of carbon fibre interior trim.
