Comand online system
Discussion
I'm having great difficulty getting latest sat nav updates for my 2015 V Class comand online system.
I have asked local dealer but nobody knows or understand the system.
The comand online is advertised as internet active with WLAN in car.
Can anyone help or point me in the direction of where I can get correct information.
Cheers,
Ian

As the motor is less than 3 years old it should be eligible for free updates via your dealer, though I've found that a lot of them are reluctant to do this due to the time it takes as it has to be connected to Germany. I'm not familiar with the V Class so can only suggest the supplying dealer or even any MB dealer who does commercial vehicles.
www.comand.co.uk should be able to enlighten you as far as if an update is available for the system, though obviously were they to apply it then costs would be incurred by you.

You're mixing up comand online with comand satnav. forget comand online, early tech that only allows connetion via i think one handset, and doesn't work anyway.
As said above, maps will be updated free for three years, after that they may charge you depending on what other work they're doing for you at the same time. Takes up to an hour as mine was last uploaded via cd! Check your version number and ask ask mb whether its old.
Good luck.
Ps - reminds me, i'm going to start a comand TMC thread as the traffic reporting is rubbish.

Thank you Dave and Rob, good to hear from you agin Rob since the Noble days.
My frustration is that I bought the comand online upgrade when I bought the car for all the features it advertised. Particularly live traffic information and map updates (updated free for 3 years) as I travel up and down the country. Firstly it's not smart in any set up, it's a really dum and frustrating.
Every MD dealer I have visited have all given me different and incorrect advise and information about the system. Poor product training.
The comand online is advertised as providing a wireless local area network. My phone is picking up the WLAN but no information how to log in.

I really like the command online on our GLC43 AMG. Both my iPhone and the one of my wife are connected (so no limit of just one hand set). All works perfectly; sending destinations to the car is instant as in I hit send on the phone and it flashes up in front of me. I really like it.
