I am looking for a C350 Estate with a decent spec. I went 150miles to look at one on Saturday and as the dealer go it out it dumped a load of oil from the front drivers side, in front of the wheel. Needless to say, I didn't drive it. It is an ex Mercedes fleet car with 110,000 on the clock but apart from a little stone chipping on the bonnet (I will get it sorted) it is very tidy and the interior is immaculate.

The dealer called me today and the leaking oil was from a power steering pipe. Is this a common problem,? should I run away?

Obviously I will drive it (if your advice says to) but is this a major issue or something to use to get a better price?

If you like it go for it but I'd be haggling for a longer warranty just for your peace of mind wink

I would walk away.
110K and it looks like it has been unloved for a very long time.
Mercs can be unloved and still survive for a short time say 40-50K
These high mileage Mercs need to be cared for to make sure they can carry on without issues. Look for a genuine car with plenty of invoices.
