W124 side trim

I have a question concerning the plastic side trim to the lower half of doors and sills on a 1991 W124 estate

Would anyone know if they're body coloured plastic which are not painted (which is what they look and feel like) or is the plastic surface painted?

I don't want to test the theory by scratching the surface

They are painted. There'll be a paint code for them.
