Does anyone know much about the W209 CLK's? Much improved over the W208 and pretty reliable?
Got great feedback from PH on potential Volvo's / Saabs but the CLK sneak into the potential list of cars.
AT does give a few options on 320's which im interested in, but this 500 has come up.
Anything to beware off when checking the cars, or is it normally the guidance of service history, mot checks, etc.

The W209 is much improved from the W208, rust shouldn't be an issue unless it's badly repaired.
The one thing to check for is when you start the car if you hear a clicking sound then it'll be the flaps behind the dash, the part isn't expensive but it's a dash out job so quite expensive.
Of the two you're looking at I'd go for the 320, the 500 is okay but the wheels are terrible the chrome surrounds would have to go to.
If you can't see the gearbox fluids & filter have been changed recently then budget between £150-200 to get it done.
Apart from that they're a very reliable car.
I have three so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks. You tend to see more 320's for sale, and checking performance is exactly what I would need. The 500 looks a bit chav with those wheels but wasn't sure if the 500 had more potential for big bills. No it doesn't have more potential for big bills apart from 16 plugs instead of 12 for the 320 even the fuel consumption isn't far apart, I'd normally always go for the V8 but unless you've got another £700-1000 to spend on unchaving it then it would be the 320 for me, personally I'd buy the 500 & un chav it.
