C350e low fuel range query

Hi,
In normal situations you can access the current range of petrol in the tank. However when you get low it shows a red warning, but doesn't then allow you to see how many miles you've got left. So you end up driving blind, hopeing you've enough to reach the next petrol station. Doesnt seem very sensible.
I've checked the handbook but can't find anything.
Any assistance appreciated.

Usually flips to the Red warning when the expected range is 50 miles. I tend to have the economy/range option shown on the dash.

Understand but still doesn't seem very sensible that you can't see the range after that occurs. I've checked the other screens and I can't find the actual range so can't judge when I need to fill up. Our company use only BP Stations as a rule as we get discount.

Only once took it down to red - ran about 8 miles on hybrid with petrol on and then got a message saying

Only E-mode available - power limited - refuel immediately ...


Was quite surprised it went to e-mode only and didn't take the chance on how far it would go - refuelled immediately

Have no idea if it is the same but on the W204 you can revert to remaining range by pressing OK to acknowledge the low fuel message.

Thanks, but tried that. Clears the warning but in place on actual remaining miles in just tells you to fill up!

I think all my cars have done that.
Get to 50 miles range and you are on your own.

However, the C350e is the first car I've had where the satnav asks if you would like help finding the nearest petrol station
